- RP-070 Infrared Remote. (Shared w other models in the ISOloop range).
- RP-? 18 cm Take-up reel silver, black Technics logo at top. High torque version.
- RP-* 18 cm Take-up reel dark. Low torque version.
- There were less accessories available for this model than the other ISO loop models. No side panels, road case nor soft vinyl dust cover. As the 777 cannot mount larger reels than 7 inch reels there were no NAB hub adapters either.
- Contemporary Japanese brochures have a nickname for this model: THE7. The nickname is featured as a red logo.
[edit] Comments
- This model was only sold in Japan.
- Replacement parts are no longer available from Technics, Panasonic nor Matsushita.
- The reel motors are not the same type as found on the other 10.5inch decks in the ISO loop series.
- White plastic parts will yellow over time. It helps to have a 7inch reel or other reel with enough tape on it to cover the reel tables, but the lock is still exposed. A soft cover that is UV resistant may be answer, if you do not have the elegant RP-9111 lid.
- The face plate lettering (legend) is fragile and is too easily damaged by cleaning using fluids that dissolve the ink. The other ISO loop decks have a more durable paint in both the background and lettering.
- This deck is made for 100V operation only, it will work fine with 50 or 60 Hertz AC. There is no selector for voltage, also not hidden inside. The transformer is also more light weight than the ones used in the 10.5inch ISO loop decks.
- Recording is possible only in forward direction, a single 4th head only performs 4-track 2 channel stereo playback.
