JVC XL-Z 444
From HifiWiki
My old jvc xl-z444 cd player.
I'am french and in 1986, i was not yet an architect diplomed, my first "big" money for a job allow me to buy a nice used car and my first cd player.
At those times, i have a friend who was working in a big super store. Some JVC HIFI products were just good priced 4 weeks before christmas, and i brake my piggy bank.
2 weeks ago, that is 23 years ago after my purchase, my JVC XL-Z444 was suddenly enable to play my cd......after 5 hours of deep search in the heart of the machine, i discover i was only the tray that suport the beam that was a bit jamed....i just make the mechanism run with my finger....and it works again !
i love the clear but not bright sound of this cd player, and it goes well with the ampli a AX-444 Dynamic super A, bought the same day in 1986, and it feed my Cabass loudspeakers, 1985 with planty of power sound but always clear and distinctly played
Notice that for the heart operation in the machine I used a cruciform screw driver, the one direct from the box i use for my car ! and also that the active component inside the JVC are mainly yamaha made in tokyo.
Perhaps the funebre march CD for my own funeral ceremony will be play on this CD player....i'm sure to appreciate that !
