[edit] Description
[edit] Product Summary
- Manufacturer: B&W
- The DM 1800’s are further triumphs for B&W’s research and development centre – generally
regarded as one of the most advanced development centres in Europe.
- The new metal – domed high frequency unit uses the same diaphragm as the professional
model Matrix 801. The Bass/midrange driver are of a totally new design, and the specially formulated plastic compound used for the cone makes several distinct contributions to performance
- The increased cabinet performance goes a step further with a more powerful bass/midrange
unit producing superb attack and transient performance.
- There is an optional, purpose-designed stand.
[edit] Technical highlights
- B&W’s ability to reduce the number of crossover network components to an
absolute minimum means that the signal has a more direct path to the drivers – an advantage which produces a cleaner, more linear performance. B&W’s patented APOC Circuit protects both systems against excessive overload.
- The enclosures have matched the design simplicity with the beauty of real wood
veneers. Their high density, bevel wedged front baffles are more than just visually pleasing – the bevel actually helps to reproduce diffraction and so improve dispersion.
